A Message From Stefanie

Hello Family and Friends,

First, I want to say a sincere thank you for all the prayers, gifts, cards in the mail, meals, flowers, texts, and words of encouragement since the malignant tumor was found at the base of my tongue on May 8th.

Your kindness has been felt in the most tangible ways—whether it’s a meal, a card or flowers that showed up at just the right time and brightened my day. Though these past few weeks have launched us into a journey none of us would choose, we have seen evidence of God’s nearness and faithfulness daily, down to the smallest details.

Stefanie & ChildrenMany of you have lovingly asked how you can help—and we are so grateful.

Right now, our greatest need is prayer and financial support.

We’ve seen the Lord provide already, and we’re trusting that He will continue. We are currently believing for a $35,000 goal to help cover the expenses involved in this journey of healing from cancer. Even more importantly, we are believing for a 100% miracle in my body, no long term side effects from treatment and a full recovery.

Here’s a snapshot of where those funds will go:

  • Out of pocket costs for doctors’ visits, scans, labs, and upcoming medical treatment
  • Medications to support the healing journey and relieve pain (some are out of pocket)
  • Dental care regimen due to the risks that come with radiation (special rinses, mouthwashes, toothbrushes, waterpik flosser, etc)
  • Pain relief options outside of narcotics (there are many, but it’s a matter of finding what works and the costs add up)
  • Red light therapy, IV therapy and ozone therapy to support the body’s natural defenses
  • Targeted nutrition and supplements
  • Organic tube feeding formula made from whole food ingredients (Due to the pain of radiation, I’ll receive a majority of my nutrition through a feeding tube inserted into my stomach)
  • Naturopathic oncologist support to minimize side effects and support the body’s healing efforts
  • Natural treatment supplies
  • Expenses associated with rehabilitation after treatment
  • Family refreshment activities (rest, outings, moments of joy and care for our family’s emotional and spiritual health during this season. We want to prioritize fun memories for the girls)

We are asking that you’d prayerfully consider supporting us in this journey. There are three ways to give:

  • Venmo: @ChrisandStefanieOverstreet
  • Cashapp: $StefanieOverstreet
  • Tax deductible gift via Compassion to Action, but you must click on “designate” and select “Overstreet Family” for the funds to go directly to us

Stefanie

We have chosen a treatment plan that involves both conventional and alternative options. This will involve 7 weeks of concurrent chemotherapy and radiation. The doctor admitted it’s a difficult course of treatment, but the prognosis is good. We are also working with a naturopathic oncologist. And we fully expect God’s continued divine intervention and miraculous power as I navigate this journey.

A gentle side note: We deeply appreciate everyone’s concern, which comes from a place of love. That said, we are asking for no medical advice or suggestions to be given. We feel confident about the plan we are walking out with the Lord and with our medical team (both conventional and alternative). As you can imagine, it can feel overwhelming to receive many different opinions or suggestions. We invite you to partner with us in prayer instead.

We are walking in peace, even in the midst of the storm, and doing our best to follow the voice of God as He directs our steps.

Thank you again for standing with us. Your prayers, your presence, and your support mean more than we can express.

Thank you for supporting us!
